Good Bye To Big Tommy

Big Tommy 2000 - 2010

Our Big headed Scottie left us last night for the rainbow bridge. Tommy was a singer, a ball player, he loved the water and he was our Alpha. His last two weeks with us were strong and joyful. He did not suffer and he died at home on his own terms.   When we first adopted Tommy in 05 Dan would often refer to him as a dog in a Scottie suit and yet his strong terrier spirit was never more obvious than in his last hour. Thanks to all that have been holding him in their hearts these past two weeks, your love and support has meant the world to us.

Just saw this sad news posted on Dog Art Today. What a handsome fellow he is in the pictures. I'm so sorry, makes me weep, I just lost my best friend (and occasional model) a week ago. Take care.

Thanks Maggie & Mitch. Heidi I am so sorry for your loss as well. Thank you Karie and Gail. Thanks to both Leigh and Linda too, I know both of you women have gone through the same pain and loss and I appreciate your support. I know you understand what it is like when your studio is suddenly very quiet, not that they ever made any noise as they slept under a desk while you painted. But they were there.

Oh my gosh, I am so sad to hear this news. I've been thinking about you all. I was just about to post Atticus on my blog....still will, but I will also pay homage to Big Tommy.

When I see you in October (and by the way, I plan on playing hookie so I can meet up with you!), I'm gonna give you a big hug. Until then, hang in there!

XOXO

Hey Matt- He loved you, and loved playing ball with you. Some of the pics you took of him are the best we have in our archives. He was indeed an amazing dog.

So very, very sorry to hear this.

That was my favourite picture of Tommy. It makes me smile every time I see it.

All the very best to you and yours,

AnnB

Thanks so much Ann. That is one of my favorite pics too. It has been a rough week but we are hanging in there and finding new routines somehow. Just these past 2 days little Ajax has found a deeper bark inside, I think he may be wanting to step up and into the role of Alpha. We are all do the best we can and figuring out our new "normal".

Hey there Andrea , thanks for stopping by and for your sweet words. I know you understand where I am at. Every time I see that trio of fabric Scotties you created for me it warms my heart so much. I am glad you got to meet my boy.
