Do you use i-google homepage?

Today I want to talk about i-google. I am taking an on-line course from Alyson Stanfield on decluttering and organization. The other day a conversation came up about calendars and also i-google. A couple of us use i-google to organize our on-line browsing world, while a few others had never heard of it. It is a simple home-page tool, but it really has a lot of great ad-ons that allow me to do things like post to or read from some of my networking sites without even going to those sites ... I can do and see a lot right from my browser. I made a quickie movie about it if you are interested, ok it took me 3 tries and it still is not perfect, but I am going to go ahead and embed it today. I am still learning the screen capture software so please bear with me. If you want to hear more about i-google hit the play arrow below. Or click here to go to youtube.

Thanks Alyson!

Hey Melissa ... I really missed your blog last week. Did Emmitt get tons of new toys on his b-day?

Hi Rebecca,
I just watched the video. Good info! Sounds like this would be a great thing for me so I'll have to find some time to check it out!

Thanks Manon. I have Kathy Weller giving it a try today. Please forgive the low resolution jumpy images ...arrrg. I could not keep messing with it. Had to post and move on.

Let me know if you need any help with it .... it is sort of hard to find the cool gadgets you need at first.

Hi Rebecca -

I tried to view, but it says this video is no longer available. Are you tinkering with it? Can I view it on YouTube. It looks like exactly what I need. I am off it Igoogle to poke around.

Moira-
someone else said that, but it works for me. I added a link to the youtube page it is on.

So -- I totally have you to thank for changing my life with a computer calendar. But I confess, I didn't stick with my igoogle page. The calendar didn't have many of the options I was looking for and after reading the help section where people were crying for a "to do" list for years with no response, I went looking for another program. I found it right on my Mac. iCal. It has everything I want and I thought I would just share it with you if you are looking for a personal calendar that does more.

Here are some of the features

- color coding
- easy to drag and drop events
- to do list!
- active url links
- notes section in the to do list.

And I hope to get an iphone some day soon and it will be all ready to synch.

I always appreciate your tips. Wanted to share mine : )
